Taylor Swift Canceled her Melbourne Cup Performance due to Animal rights criticism

She was accused of “endorsing animal abuse” by the animal right advocators.
She was going to perform two songs from her new collection at Flemington Racecourse at the event on November 5.

“Regrettably, Taylor is no longer able to make it to this year’s Melbourne Cup. Changes to her Asian promo schedule have made it logistically impossible for her to be here.

To all of Taylor’s fans, we hope to see Taylor in Australia in 2020.” music promoter Michael Gudinski said in a statement online.

The chief executive Neil Wilson of VRC said. “Obviously, this is disappointing for everyone,” “We understand how important the pre-Cup entertainment is and we look forward to providing an update shortly.”
However, Swift hasn’t commented publicly on her decision to cancel the performance from the event.

Be that as it may, her withdrawal drew cheers from animal-rights advocates who had challenged her for her performance.

“Thank you Taylor! We are absolutely delighted with the news.” said the Coalition for the Protection of Racehorses said in a Facebook post-Saturday.

Ten days prior, after Swift’s performance at the race was declared, the coalitionhad asked its social networking followers to request her to quit her performance and say #NupToTheCup.

TaylorSwift has put money before compassion by agreeing to perform at 2019 Melbourne Cup. An event where at least 6 horses have been KILLED over the past 6 years,” the group wrote on Facebook

They continued “With such huge success already, she could easily afford to not only say NO, but use the opportunity to help the horses by speaking up against horse cruelty in the racing industry,”

“If Taylor Swift cares at all about other animals the way she appears to care about cats, she will cancel her show and make a strong statement that animal abuse is unacceptable.”
