Rahat Indori was a Pedagogist of Urdu in Indore University before he was spotted by Bollywood film industry and the lovers of Urdu poetry around the World. 

An intensive refined man, with philosophical tendencies, Rahat Indori is known for his beautiful splendor and absolute flair in his poetic work. From the last 40 to 45 years Dr. Indori is constantly participating in Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan. 





He also traveled broadly across the world to recite poetry and attended poetic symposiums in almost every one of the cities of India and has additionally traveled multiple times to USA, Singapore, UK, Canada, Mauritius, Nepal, KSA, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Pakistan, Bahrain, Oman, and so forth.


Personal life


Rahat Indori was born on first January 1950 at Indore in the province of Madhya Pradesh, India. He is an Indian Poet, Lyricist, essayist, and Songwriter. He is widely known for his work in Urdu Poetry and Bollywood film industry.

His father’s name was Rafatullah Qureshi and mother’s name was Maqbool Un Nisa Begum. He has two sisters named Taqreeb and Tehzib and two brothers named Aquil and Adil. He married twice. 

He married Seema Rahat on 27th May 1986 and together they had a little girl named Shibil and two sons named Faisal and Satlaj Rahat. Later he married Anjum Rehbar but unfortunately, they also separated after a few years of their marriage.



Early Life and career


Rahat Indori did his initial education from Nutan School Indore from where he finished his Higher Secondary as well. He finished his graduation from Islamia Karimia College Indore and passed his MA in 1975 in Urdu writing from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. 

He was granted a Ph.D. in Urdu writing from the Bhoj University of Madhya Pradesh in 1985 for his thesis titled Urdu Main Mushaira.





Later he became a teacher of Urdu literature in IK College, Indore. As indicated by his students he was the best lecturer at the school.

However, he turned out to be occupied with Mushairas and began getting invitations from all over India and abroad. Soon he began to get famous for the characteristic style of delivering Ashaar and hard work.

He has additionally earned a name for himself in the Bollywood industry as a lyricist. He wrote some of the most acclaimed songs of Bollywood, for example, ‘Khat likhna hame khat likhna’, ‘M bole to ace’, ‘Need Churayee Meri’,  ‘Chori Jab Nazrein Mili’, and ‘Koi jaye to le aye’  and many more. In his distinguished profession, he has met with different awards and honors as well.
