Stars like Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan never hide the faces of their children from the paparazzi. Moreover, Saif-Kareena’s elder son Taimur (now 6 years old) has always been one of the favorites of the shutterbugs. On the other hand, actors like Rani Mukherjee and Anushka Sharma strictly protect their children from the glare of the media. Recently, while talking to The Indian Express, Kareena Kapoor revealed why she and Saif Ali Khan never hide their children from the paparazzi. Kareena also shared that one day when he was only four years old, Taimur had asked his parents a question about getting photographed.
“He was quite clever because he knew we were actors, as I told him we were in films. And he just turned around and said to me, ‘But I’m not famous. Why are they clicking my picture?”, Kareena shared with the publication. Kareena said that now Taimur has got used to attention. “But he knows he’s not famous and he doesn’t like it,” she said. Kareena told that being parents, she and Saif always think that it is a better way to handle things instead of hiding them.
Kareena said that hiding children away from the media can have a negative impact on their minds. “Otherwise, it will scare him in some way that maybe he’ll be embarrassed or affected or I don’t know, maybe say, ‘I don’t want to go out because like my parents are constantly protecting me or someone else is constantly. I am doing this. I want him to live as normal a life as possible. So if he’s playing football, someone is clicking him. I think he is fine now, but he is moving on with his day and activity,” Kareena said.
Kareena said that she believes that children should feel safe and learning starts at home. Kareena Kapoor said, “They have to feel a certain security. I think it starts at home. You should give confidence to your child at any age of eight, nine, ten, twenty, thirty. I think this is important. I have realized that confidence starts at home. It’s like the little things that kids do. If you smile and say, ‘God, this is amazing’, I think it makes them feel a little more confident. So when I do it [with my kids] I can see that change. And yes, but when it goes wrong, you have to say that too.”
Kareena Kapoor’s Instagram feed is filled with Taimur’s pictures. On Raksha Bandhan, Kareena shared some inside pictures of her family jam moments. In one of the pictures, Sara Ali Khan can be seen applying tilak on Taimur’s forehead. Kareena simply wrote in the caption, “Family bonding.”
On International Yoga Day, Kareena shared this picture featuring Saif, Taimur and Jeh. While little Jeh can be seen imitating his father, big brother Taimur is busy punching the bag. Kareena wrote in the caption, “IT All starts on the MAT…Heal Inspire Love. Happy International Yoga Day…Keep Moving…”
